Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What's the difference between DogOn Fitness and dog walking services?

A. Where do we begin? Our exercise sessions are lead by committed athletes who find innovative methods to keep your dog interested in daily exercise and mental stimulation. Every day is a new challenge: if your dog is fit, she might run 5 miles in a single session. There's no comparison to our services. Your dog will get all the daily exercise he or she needs in one session with us. You will notice the difference the first time we go out and your vet will notice the difference after a month. Our coaches meet or exceed customer expectations all the time.

Q. Why do you require a Veterinary evaluation for enrollment?

A
. We're serious about fitness and health. We want to give your dog a healthy workout, relative to his or her abilities and needs. A veterinarian will be able to steer us in the right direction, while spotting any health issues that need to be addressed during exercise.  It's a general checkup - any person or dog beginning an exercise program should have one.  We can even take your dog to our DogOn Fitness Veterinarian, Alpine Veterinary Clinic to complete this step for you.

Q. My dog, Ginger, doesn't get along with other dogs. Can she enroll in DogOn Fitness?

A. We accept ALL dogs into our program (except overly aggressive dogs or those who might endanger people or other dogs).  The only requirement is that your dog be thoroughly checked by a Vet to determine her fitness level. We work with each dog to find the best group or individual placement.

Q. My dog is 10 and has arthritis. I'm not sure how to provide him with exercise, but he needs to be walked twice a day. Do you accept older, slower dogs?

A. Absolutely! Some of our most grateful clients are older dogs who want more than one relief break a day. Frequent exercise will also help to loosen those stiff joints. Your vet is the best  person to tell you how much exercise your dog needs.

Q. I have a small mixed terrier dog. Will she be able to keep up with your program?

A. Every client is unique.  We customize our program to meet the fitness needs of each dog. Some smaller dogs need less distance and more agility-type exercise.  We work with you, your vet, and your dog to determine the best program to meet your dog's needs.
